Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide mechanical design support for a variety of finished goods as well as new product innovations.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform all related tasks necessary to the creation, verification, & implementation for all purchased part specification(s) to include:
o 3D Part Models (SolidWorks)
o Dimensioning required for fabrication
o Determination of Key Characteristics
o Part Finishes
o Material Specification(s)
o Note(s)
· Perform all related tasks necessary to the creation, verification, & implementation for all manufacturing assembly design and documentation to include:
o 3D Assembly Models (SolidWorks)
o ADS [Assembly Documentation Set] Documentation
o BoM [Bills of Material]
o Tolerance Stackup
o Provide calculations to support product design
· Perform all related tasks necessary to the creation, verification, & implementation for all customer support documents to include:
o Overall dimension(s) of the finished good i.e. Height, Width, & Depth
o Product weight(s)
o Mounting feature location(s)
Performance, Metrics & Reporting
· Perform all related tasks in support of Engineering’s request/change order process [ECR/ECO]
· Perform all related tasks to ensure the proper initiation & implementation of all new item(s) in accordance to Engineering’s NIC [New Item Checklist] process.
· Create supporting documentation for product manufacturing as necessary.
· Create supporting documentation as necessary for installation and service of products.
· Provide mechanical design support for NPI [New Product Introduction]
· Provide mechanical design support for Custom Product Order(s)
· Perform related tasks of new part entry and BOM changes to ERP system.
· Utilize industry standard(s) & best practices for Mechanical Drafting & Design
· Create standardized templates and procedures for use in design process.
