Position Overview
The Sr. Quality Manager leads the Quality teams across MTI including the Pleasant Prairie and Muskego, Wisconsin sites consisting of approximately 20 Quality professionals. The Sr. Quality Manager provides direct oversight of the Quality Management System (AS9100) deployment and success for all locations. They partner closely with the MTI Quality Leader to implement critical initiatives and develop customer relationships. In addition, this position requires strong working and collaborative relationships with Operations, Engineering, Business Unit Leaders, Purchasing, Sales, and Customer Service.

Essential Job Functions
- Support and Leverage MTI’s Quality team to monitor and achieve key Quality KPIs (PPM, Scrap and Customer Escapes).
- Manage Quality team members in Pleasant Prairie and Muskego including Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Quality Supervisors.
- Provide quality oversight and assistance to international MTI production facilities.
- Maintain certification of MTI manufacturing sites in concert with AS9100 requirements.
- Serve as Quality Leader supporting Business Unit teams (Aerospace & Defense, Ball Screws and Industrial) including new product development projects to ensure high-quality product performance across our market sectors.
- Actively participate in annual strategic planning process.
- Work directly with customers and other functions to resolve customer concerns and complaints.
- Manage headcount to meet business objectives.
- Hire, train, coach, and mentor all associates in the use of APQP, PPAP, RCCA and other relevant industry best practices.
- Support the development of customer flow down process through the supply chain.
- Participate in various activities including supplier selection, contract review, compliance audits and any other activity needed to support business objectives
- Perform all job duties consistent with MTI Core Values (Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Commitment, & Innovation).
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required in a technical discipline (Engineering, Quality, Mathematics, etc.), Master’s or advance degree preferred.
- 7 years’ experience leading teams in a quality department including product quality, quality systems, supplier quality, calibration and line inspection.
- Relevant experience with customer and registrar audits including demonstrated ability to conduct audits and train auditors.
- ISO9001 or AS9100 knowledge and demonstrated QMS system compliance required; understanding of AS9100 D, AS9145, AS9102, and AS9110 preferred.
- Supplier quality management experience preferred.
- Expert in root cause corrective action tools (8D, RCCA, 5 Whys, DMAIC, etc.).
- Lean or Six Sigma black belt certified with a proven track record of business performance improvement is preferred.
- Experienced in application of APQP elements, especially FMEAs and Control Plans.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, developing, and leading talent.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Design and Operations in a fast paced, high growth business setting.
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
