KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

As the Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the compliance for MTI products and ensure that the organization complies with global regulatory requirements and potentially assist with trade compliance activities (import / export).

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for ensuring the organization, including affiliates, comply with materials regulations such as Prop 65, REACH, RoHS, HRA, PFAS and CMRT.
  • Maintain a database of materials for purchased and manufactured goods as well as supplier compliance declarations and communicate with suppliers regarding material compliance as needed.
  • Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and recommend actions to maintain compliance of active products. Advise the Engineering team on current and future legislative matters.
  • Respond to customer compliance requests, propose, and implement changes necessary in the production environment due to regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met on products with regards to labeling, packaging artwork, and instruction booklets.
  • Act as the main point of contact and liaison with Source Intelligence to support responses to customer compliance requests related to REACH, RoHS, Human Rights Assessments, Prop 65, and Conflict minerals; ensure BOMs provided by the supply chain team are uploaded to ensure timely surveying of suppliers and follow up with suppliers as necessary to maintain accurate information within the database.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize activities, strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to maintain records related to product registrations.

Requirements

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS :

  • Knowledgeable of U.S. import and export control laws and regulations (EAR / ITAR / OFAC).
  • Prior experience classifying items such as ECCN, HTS, Schedule B, from top level assemblies through component levels.
  • Draft and submit export licenses, Commodity Jurisdiction, and classification requests through SNAP-R and / or DECCS, and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping, including tracking classifications within ERP system.
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Requirements and Personal Attributes) :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Prior compliance experience particularly in the manufacturing industry desired.
  • 1-3 year(s) relevant experience.
  • Excellent data management skills and proof-reading ability.
  • Requirement : Candidate must be currently eligible to work on export-controlled projects.
  • Experience with industry standard material compliance software.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
