Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team at Steel Pro, Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling materials within our warehouse environment, ensuring that products are stored and prepared for shipment accurately and safely. The Material Handler ensures all materials are stored in an organized manner so they remain undamaged and can be readily found and identified. The Material Handler is responsible for general upkeep and organization of all material storage areas including but not limited to the warehouse, garage, plate racks and pipe racks.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading outgoing and incoming material and products.
- Move material to appropriate storage area. This will be done in coordination with the Shipper / Receiver to ensure all appropriate documentation has been confirmed prior to removing materials from the “Holding Area”.
- Support production by assisting in locating and delivering materials to the fabrication area.
- Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
- Maintain clean and orderly storage areas.
- Package outgoing materials and process paperwork (packing slips, Bills of Lading, special instructions, etc.). This often requires obtaining the weight and dimensions of a container and communicating this information to the Office Manager.
- Assist with monthly inventory of surplus and customer-specific materials.
- Serve as a substitute for the Shipper / Receiver in his / her absence.
- Occasional driving to make deliveries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in materials handling or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Valid Maine Driver's license required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
