Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine tests in various medical laboratory departments. This role involves working with blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to provide accurate diagnostic data for healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis departments
- Analyze physician's orders and requisitions to ensure proper testing procedures
- Collect patient specimens while maintaining patient comfort and dignity
- Prepare and process medical specimens for analysis
- Draw blood from patients using principles of asepsis
- Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, including blood, urine, and spinal fluid
- Perform blood counts and transfusion-related blood tests
- Handle and process medical specimens, including blood, stool, sputum, and throat cultures
- Operate laboratory equipment accurately and efficiently
- Document test results and communicate findings to healthcare providers
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
