Job Summary
Fabricate simple steel parts by reading blue prints and building to specifications using hand held tools, power tools, and track torch.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Flux Core Welding Test with 1/16th wire and Tack Welding.
- Interpret structural steel blue prints (shop drawings). Simple columns and beams.
- Operate cutting torch.
- Utilize impact wrench to tighten bolts.
- Operate 90° angle grinder.
- Use magnetic drill, reamer motors and reamers for making holes.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications and Skills
Required: High school education or equivalent. Ability to read tape measure to 1/16” increments and add / subtract fractions. Ability to read weld symbols and basic knowledge of structural steel fasteners. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Flux Core Welding Test with 1/16th wire: 1T-joint with single pass and 1T-joint with a multi-pass in horizontal position.
Preferred: Two or more years experience in manufacturing in the steel fabrication industry.
Proficiency and use of Software, equipment, machines, tools, electronic device necessary for job :
Squares (bevel and frame), 90° angle grinder, torch, impact wrench, reamers, magnetic drills, welding machine, and tape measure.
