Job Summary:
SWX Construction is seeking an experienced Plumbing Project Manager / Estimator with proven expertise in plumbing, project management, and estimating. This role involves overseeing mechanical construction projects, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Prepare detailed estimates based on various project documents, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.
- Develop and manage project schedules, labor, and resource needs. Coordinate with the Foreman to ensure timely material ordering and delivery.
- Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Analyze documents to identify bid requirements, scope of work, and special project needs.
- Create proposals with work plans, schedules, and bid breakdowns. Participate in pre-bid, bid strategy, and post-construction meetings.
- Source material and equipment pricing from suppliers and vendors. Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers. Manage subcontractors.
- Monitor and control project costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractors. Provide monthly billing requirements and cost projections.
- Ensure quality control and jobsite safety. Monitor material deliveries and verify packing slips.
Education & Skill Requirements:
10 years in plumbing with extensive experience in project management and estimating.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents, project scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of plumbing, estimating, and project management for both plan/spec and design-build projects.
