Summary
Steep Creek, LLC is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for our Construction Division. The primary role of an equipment operator is to safely operate heavy equipment under the direction of the Superintendent. The successful candidate will always be punctual, reliable, and willing to take directions from their leaders.
Salary: $18.00 /hr, based on experience
Base Location: Greenbrier, Marshall, Harrison, Van Buren, or Northwest Arkansas
Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, graders, backhoes, and skid steers
- Set laser level and cut/fill to grade per plans
- Set pipe laser and slope for underground utility installation
- Perform routine maintenance on construction equipment
- Load and unload equipment from trailers
- Complete required paperwork, forms, and inspection records
- Assist other laborers with manual tasks when necessary
- Maintain a clean jobsite, including picking up all tools and trash/debris daily
- Follow all OSHA safety procedures
- Be available to work overtime, including an occasional weekend;
- Be available to travel
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Able to work without close supervision once given tasks
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Able to do physical labor in all weather conditions, including lifting heavy objects
- Able to lead by example
Experience/Education
- 3 years experience operating heavy equipment required
- Previous experience on civil or underground utility construction projects required
