Our educators are committed to preparing children with the necessary knowledge and skills for early success and school readiness. We emphasize the importance of parental engagement in a child's growth and development. Through consistent communication, including newsletters and daily progress updates, we foster a strong collaboration with parents to support education. We offer a modified Montessori approach paired with a traditional curriculum.

Creating a safe and nurturing space, we encourage children to enhance their communication abilities and express themselves confidently among their peers. Acknowledging each child's unique learning style, we prioritize personalized learning experiences. Our primary focus is on boosting self-confidence, helping children recognize their strengths, and facilitating a smooth transition to Kindergarten when the time comes. Respect is fundamental in all interactions with children, families, and team members.

At Steeplechase, we cultivate an environment that promotes children's growth, learning, and skill development, which is both gratifying and enriching. Teachers are tasked with creating and executing educational activities like storytelling, art projects, and curriculum-based lessons for young children. Ensuring children's well-being and advancement aligns with our standards and complies with the regulations of the Kansas City Department of Education.

Upholding respect for children and families, our Teachers maintain a safe, hygienic, secure, and well-equipped learning environment. Failure to meet these standards may jeopardize the safety and welfare of the children under our care.

$16 - $23 hourly

• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children
• Provide activities to encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving at the developmental levels of each child
• Read books with children
• Enjoy time in nature
• Plan art projects
• Emergency procedures need to be provided at all times
• Ensure children are supervised at all times; this includes all areas of our facility (restrooms, classrooms, hallways, playground)
• Actively engage with children at their level at all times
• Communication: Keeping parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their child’s progress is vital to the success of our program. You must be able to listen to parents and maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with them.
• Open and positive communication with coworkers and management is expected at all times

• Bachelors in Education or related field
• 1yr in an educational setting or medical setting
• Must be able to pass a mandatory background screening
• Annual professional development required
