Job Summary:
SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a Construction Administrator (CM-CA) to provide on-site support at the John J. Cochran Veterans Hospital for EHRM infrastructure upgrades.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction management, quality assurance, and contractor oversight. This role requires a strong working knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, cost management, and compliance oversight. The CM-CA will be responsible for ensuring contractors meet project specifications, reviewing construction documents, and assisting in baseline schedule assessments.
This position is essential for enhancing VA’s contract management oversight, ensuring adherence to all regulations, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight: Assist in implementing Quality Assurance, Safety, Time, Cost, Change, and Information Management Plans.
Construction Monitoring: Perform quality assurance checks to ensure contractor compliance with project standards and construction documents.
Schedule & Cost Control: Review baseline schedules and assist in determining the value of acceptable work in place.
Deficiency Identification: Analyze contractor work for incongruities and deficiencies in relation to project specifications.
Contractor Coordination: Oversee site operations of General and Sub-contractors, ensuring smooth execution of construction activities.
Change Management: Document scope changes, updates, and project modifications to maintain alignment with contract requirements.
Technical Documentation: Utilize software tools to monitor, update, and manage project data, work products, and compliance records.
Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, providing detailed reports on progress and findings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
✅ Degree from an accredited institution OR equivalent work experience.
✅ Minimum of 3 years of construction work experience (reviewed for acceptability).
✅ Experience in quality assurance monitoring and contractor oversight.
✅ Previous projects of similar scale and complexity (three projects must be presented in credentials).
Skills & Competencies:
Strong working knowledge of construction practices and industry standards.
Experience in reviewing and analyzing construction documents to identify deficiencies.
Familiarity with general contractor and subcontractor site operations.
Understanding of baseline scheduling and project cost assessments.
Proficiency in construction-related software programs for data compilation and monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently while meeting deadlines.
