SteerBridge Strategies is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to support our HCSC project. The DBA will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing database environments critical to the success of healthcare system operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in Microsoft SQL Server, ETL processes, and MySQL, as well as expertise in writing complex structured query language (SQL) queries and optimizing database performance.
This role requires a professional who is adept at working in cloud-based environments and has a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure. The DBA will ensure high data integrity, security, and availability while supporting the evolving needs of the project.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven work experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Microsoft SQL Server, ETL, and MySQL.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and database management in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle).
- Understanding of data integration, ETL pipelines, and data migration processes.
- Familiarity with database security best practices, including access controls and encryption.
Preferred:
- Experience working with federal healthcare systems or large-scale healthcare databases.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare data security standards.
- Familiarity with database automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning.
- Certification(s) in SQL Server, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, administer, and optimize databases supporting healthcare system operations.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable database solutions.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Work with cloud-based database solutions, implementing best practices for scalability and security.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and IT teams to support project goals.
- Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Document database architectures, processes, and workflows to maintain operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure system reliability.
