Food Technologist/ Laboratory Technician to aid in ingredient applications and functionality evaluations
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the development of new ingredient technology for company's food and beverage products
- Conduct bench top and pilot plant trials to optimize formulation and processes
- Perform functional evaluations of new ingredients and record results
- Perform sensory testing of prototypes
- Perform shelf-life and stability evaluations
- Coordinate team evaluations on a regular basis
- Submit prototypes and samples for analytical testing and compile results
- Performing sample analysis after training on analytical equipment
- Communicate with suppliers for ingredient requests and information
- Write progress reports
- Aid in maintenance of lab equipment
- Maintain and organize laboratory and supplies
- Ensure laboratory safety
Job Requirements
Details:
Must-haves:
- Strong work ethic and enthusiasm
- Local candidate (relocation not offered)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting with food ingredients
- B.S. in Food Science or similar field and minimum 2 years' experience
- Laboratory experience from B.S degree coursework or work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good record-keeping and organization
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
