Steffens Insurance Group located in Waterford, WI has an immediate opening for a full-time Commercial Lines Account Manager. This
role is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of commercial accounts and ensuring the highest level of service to our clients. We will provide training for the right person with the right skill set.
The ideal candidate will have :
an active P&C license, prior experience in commercial insurance, and excellent skills in client relationship management, communication, and follow-up. Having the
ability to work in a fast-paced environment with unscheduled interruptions will also be helpful.
Knowledge :
Insurance Products and Services : An understanding of insurance products, coverages, and services is essential for effectively servicing commercial accounts. This includes knowledge of various types of commercial insurance policies, such as property, liability, and workers' compensation, as well as the ability to explain coverage options to clients.
Computer Systems and Operations : Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office and agency automation systems, is necessary for performing administrative tasks, preparing documents, and maintaining client records electronically. This knowledge ensures efficiency in managing client accounts and processing transactions.
Industry Regulations and Compliance : Familiarity with insurance industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices is important for ensuring adherence to legal requirements and agency guidelines. This includes understanding state insurance laws, licensing requirements, and ethical standards governing insurance transactions.
Responsibilities :
Manage a book of commercial insurance accounts , including renewals, policy changes, and claims follow-up.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding their commercial insurance needs.
Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and policy retention.
Prepare and process insurance quotes, applications, and endorsements for new and existing clients.
Review policies for accuracy and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Work closely with underwriters, brokers, and other team members to provide solutions tailored to client needs.
Stay up-to-date on insurance market trends , coverage options, and regulatory changes.
Assist clients with claims management, including reporting claims and liaising between the client and insurance carriers.
Utilize insurance management software and other technologies to manage accounts, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications :
P&C License in Wisconsin (must be current and in good standing).
Prior Commercial Insurance experience with a focus on account management and servicing.
Proven strong follow-up skills and ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in technology and able to quickly adapt to new software systems (experience with insurance management software is a plus).
Excellent communication skills , both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships .
Problem-solving skills and a customer-first attitude.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
