Job Summary:
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the front of house operations in the restaurant. The Front of House Manager will work closely with the kitchen staff and management to create a seamless dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise front of house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
2. Guest Experience:
- Ensure that all guests receive outstanding service and hospitality from the moment they enter until they leave.
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, and suggestions promptly and professionally.
- Monitor dining areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic appeal.
3. Operational Oversight:
- Manage the daily operations of the dining room, bar, and host stand, ensuring smooth service flow.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain quality standards and timely food delivery.
- Implement and uphold restaurant policies and procedures related to service and safety.
4. Financial Management:
- Assist in managing front of house expenses.
- Monitor and analyze sales trends to optimize revenue and improve profitability.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, ensuring all financial practices are followed.
5. Marketing and Promotions:
- Support the development and execution of promotional events and marketing strategies to attract guests.
- Engage with customers on social media and other platforms to enhance the restaurant's presence.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be accepted.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a restaurant management role, with a focus on front of house operations.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
