Description
The Radiologic Technologists provide quality imaging to help us deliver first-rate patient care. We seek candidates with outstanding communication skills, a collaborative disposition, and an unwavering commitment to serving patients. The radiologic technologist will conduct radiographic exams in compliance with physicians’ directions and radiology protocols. Ideal candidates will keep abreast of the latest imaging technologies, demonstrate good technical judgment in assessing image diagnostics, and work with physicians and other staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Perform radiographic examinations while adhering to radiology protocols at the ambulatory surgery center
2. Educate patients on radiologic procedures and safety protocols
3. Assist patients in preparing and positioning for radiologic imaging
4. Operate radiologic imaging equipment safely
5. Support physicians as needed
6. Record all patient information in radiology information systems
7. Document in the electronic health record as needed.
8. Evaluate radiologic images for quality and accuracy
9. Provide patients with radiation protection equipment and ensure they comply with safety and hygiene standards
10. Ensure adequate supplies of testing equipment
11. Perform radiographic room disinfection and ensure general cleanliness of exam areas
12. Ensure that imaging equipment is in optimum operating order and inform the appropriate person when it needs repairs
13. Label images in the radiology information system according to organizational guidelines
14. Maintains a positive attitude, even during periods of stress and challenge.
15. Maintains positive attendance and communicate in advance any absences from work.
Requirements
Qualifications
1. Certification as a radiologic technologist from an accredited institution
2. National and local license to practice as a radiologic technologist within the country and locality of employment
3. In-depth knowledge of radiology protocols and imaging equipment
4. Ability to work with the general public and provide a high standard of patient care
5. Familiarity with radiology software
6. CPR certification
7. At least 4 years of clinical experience as a radiologic technologist
8. Experience working in a surgical setting
9. Competence in oral and written communication skills.
10. Basic computer skills, ability to learn new inventory system software.
11. Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
Physical Requirements:
1. Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Able to use
stethoscope and respond to verbal questions.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
2. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and
reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
3. Physically: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted,
including assisting patients when required. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual
dexterity to perform the requisite health care service. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
4. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids.
