Position Purpose
The Mechanical Designer II is responsible for developing engineering drawings required for FAA certification of aircraft components and systems. This role involves designing mechanical systems and structural modifications, converting concepts into finished engineering documentation. Work includes detailed part drawings, assembly drawings, installation drawings, drawing trees, parts lists, and ADCNs using SolidWorks or other CAD software. The PDM software is used to control design configurations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop complex mechanical design layouts using 3D CAD modeling.
Assist manufacturing teams by interpreting drawings and processes.
Prepare and revise detailed engineering drawings, including parts lists and ADCNs.
Conduct design reviews and perform tolerance stack-ups.
Facilitate project planning and oversee CAD/PDM administration.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with training in Mechanical Drawing or Drafting Technology.
Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA V5 (Certifications preferred).
1 to 4 years of increasingly responsible mechanical design and drafting experience.
Experience with PDM software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to make presentations and clearly convey design concepts.
