JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall manufacturing, internal repair of customer's equipment, Inventory, Logistics and overseeing Lab operations for Steinert US. This includes planning, organizing, and regulating the production, maintenance, repair, and inventory / parts purchasing activities to guarantee the company and its customers an effective return on capital and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Oversee, direct, and manage and supervise Steinert's production department
- Develop processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective use of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
- Ramp up production to achieve permanent output
- Contribute to the development of Steinert US' Strategic initiatives
- Managing warranty claims with suppliers to ensure reimbursement
- Communication with Sales Department regarding scheduling production, lab, and repairs
- Adaptation of technical drawings for the US
- Implement manufacturing strategies to ensure the facility supports Steinert's strategic initiatives
- Develop individual and team accountabilities for the operations department for problem solving and cost reduction both permanent and ad-hoc basis. Encourage the use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving
- Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
- Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies
- Perform reviews with staff semi yearly
- Manage departmental budget
- Continue education regarding production, products, and leadership
- Manage logistics for manufactured, repair and stock equipment to ensure on-time delivery
- Establishment and balancing of an internal production organization
- Manage negotiations for freight shipping
- Manage outside vendors that perform work on Steinert's behalf
- Establishment and balancing of various suppliers
- Manage production, material and spare part inventory using Kanban and lean thinking principles
- Learn about Steinert's products, parts and services while keeping up to date with changes
- Collaboration in the global operations team to detail and implement the Steinert operations strategy
- Provide technical training to staff as needed
