Steingold’s Bakehouse is on the hunt for a Head Baker to lead our production team in creating our award-winning bagels and other baked goods. We’re a growing operation rooted in tradition but powered by innovation, and we're looking for a skilled, organized, and passionate leader who’s ready to take ownership of the bakehouse and help us rise to the next level.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily operations of our bakehouse, including dough mixing, shaping, boiling, baking, and freezing
- Supervise, schedule, and train a small team of bakers and overnight staff
- Maintain quality and consistency across all products
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with ownership on new products, process improvements, and expansion planning
You Are:
- An experienced baker, ideally with bagel experience
- A natural leader and teacher who motivates by example
- Detail-oriented and obsessed with consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Comfortable working early mornings or late nights, depending on production needs
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Have experience scaling production in a high-volume environment
- Are familiar with lean kitchen practices and production efficiency
- Love a classic Jewish deli vibe
