Essential Functions
- Scans monitors at work station and surrounding area of responsibility frequently to ensure safety and of residents, staff, visitors, etc. Consistently follows department procedures, to include badge checks, late bus logs, etc.
- Makes safety tours rounds at the proper times, always alert for wandering or confused residents. Is alert to residents and visitors in the building. Responds as needed to meet the needs of the community.
- Records all occurrences and maintenance needs on the proper forms before the end of the shift.
- Responds as trained to all fire alarms or emergency situations and assures that emergency assistance is responding.\\
- Operates the switchboard in an efficient and proper manner, answering calls promptly and courteously. Provides support and thoroughly understands the following systems: wander guard, avycom, visaplex and the fire panel. Pages and makes announcements as requested in a clear and proper tone of voice. Takes and refers messages accurately. Contacts correct personnel (Pastoral Care, Home Care, Building Services, etc.) to respond to family and staff crises promptly and efficiently.\
- Promote safe practices at the job site by posting signs for awareness of hazard conditions and detoured routes on the facility site. -Directs traffic and enforces parking compliance.
- Know and understand risk assessments.
- Greets visitors, vendors, etc., offering directions or other needed assistance. Calls dept. to inform of visitor’s presence if appropriate.
