Join our team at Mercy's GYN practice as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include gathering patient charts and encounter forms, meticulously documenting patient assessments, providing invaluable support to providers during exams and procedures, and maintaining well-stocked examination rooms. Certification as a Medical Assistant is required. Responsibilities The following duties fall under the responsibility of the Medical Assistant but are not limited to : Rooming patients and obtaining vitals Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR) Setting up and assisting with office procedures Chaperone providers during patient examination Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS) Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology Maintaining and stocking exam rooms ordering clinical supplies Completing FMLA and Disability forms Cleaning and resetting exam rooms Travel to satellite locations as needed Requirements EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Education and Work Experience : High School Diploma or GED A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS License Requirements : N / A Certification Requirements : CPR-preferred Medical Assistant Certification- preferred Age Specific Care Provided For : Adolescents Adults Geriatrics Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Epic (if applicable to position) Performance Manager / NetLearning Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
