Overview
Job Title: Metallization Operator 2nd Shift
Job Location: Williamsport, PA
This position will work under minimal supervision and in accordance with written and oral instructions. Most duties will be performed in the Metallization Lab. The Metallization Lab Operator will carefully handle assemblies while wearing appropriate PPE to keep parts from being fingerprinted, and prevent operator contact with highly toxic and/or corrosive chemicals. On the job training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine metallization preparation and application to components:
- Follow procedures accurately.
- Preparation and mixing of components.
- Cleaning of components
- Apply metallization compounds through multiple application options.
- Hand application
- Needle application
- Air brush application
- Calculate component metallization area using actual part or drawing.
- Mix adequate metalizing compound based on calculating required surface area and qty requirements.
- Inspect application to ensure proper and complete coating.
- Perform applicable testing as required per lot.
- Operate equipment in a safe manor and inspect equipment as required.
- Inspect/PM equipment and laboratory as specified.
- Always wear appropriate PPE in the metallization laboratory and all plant areas.
- Document work activities in both computer and paper logs.
- Maintain work area in clean / orderly manner.
- Maintain barcode accuracy at 100%
- Coordinate with other staff on status of in-process activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Prior experience with industrial chemicals preferred.
- Post-secondary coursework in chemistry desired
- Able to perform mathematical calculations
