Overview
Job Title: Wet Lab Operator 2nd Shift
Job Location: Williamsport, PA
This position will work under minimal supervision and in accordance with written and oral instructions. Most duties will be performed in the cleaning & plating room. The Wet Lab Operator will carefully handle assemblies while wearing appropriate PPE to keep parts from being fingerprinted, and prevent operator contact with highly toxic and corrosive chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine chemical cleaning of components:
- degrease
- acids and rinse tanks
- alkaline cleaning tanks
- ultrasonic rinses
- Note: at times this requires lifting of component baskets of weights up to 40 pounds
- Calculate component plating area using actual part or drawing.
- Electroplate components by adjusting to specified voltages and currents to yield desired thicknesses.
- Inspect plating thickness as specified using XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence).
- Replenish chemicals in baths in accordance with laboratory analysis to maintain required concentrations.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times in cleaning & plating room and the laboratory.
- Document work activities in both computer and paper logs.
- Maintain work area in clean / orderly manner.
- Maintain barcode accuracy at 100%
- Coordinate with other staff on status of in-process activities
- Inspect/PM equipment as specified.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Prior experience with industrial chemicals preferred.
- Post-secondary coursework in chemistry desired
- Able to perform mathematical calculations.
- Good mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
- Good organizational skills, and able to give and follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to read mechanical drawings / blueprints.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
