This position is instrumental in utilizing advanced analytical techniques and tools to support risk assessment and mitigation strategies. Collaborating with the Risk team and management across various business areas, the Risk Analyst II plays a critical role in identifying, controlling, and reducing risks while fostering organizational growth and stability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Process data and create data file for analytical or reporting purposes
- Produce standardized reports that summarize/provide update on activities in various business areas
- Conduct ad hoc analysis on data, portfolio performance, and risk decision related issues
- Provide support to the development of the tracking / monitoring mechanism to track or monitor population shift, performance changes, operations efficiency, etc.
- Participate in the development or validation of advanced predictive or forecasting models
- Identify and evaluate portfolio trends with respect to delinquency, bankruptcy, demographic and other factors
- Work with internal and/or external resources or independently to develop, implement, monitor, test and validate new or existing risk assessment tools
- Implement new policies/solutions/strategies in various systems
- Use quantitative and analytical skills to mine, process and analyze data using SAS, SQL, or other data analytical tools
- Trouble-shoots data deficiencies and errors to ensure timely and accurate analysis of the data
- Ensures tasks on assigned projects are accurately completed in a timely manner
- Complies with all company policies and procedures
- This position involves regular access to specified personal information of consumers, including, but not limited to, Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience or a master’s in data analytics or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, or a related quantitative field, along with at least two years of experience in data analytics; or a Master’s degree in one of the above fields.
- Proficiency in mathematical and statistical concepts for quantitative analysis and modeling, with experience using SQL, SAS, Python, R, or similar programming languages, and expertise in querying, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data through tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or other interactive visualization platforms.
- Ability to synthesize complex or diverse data to extract information or reach conclusion useful for business strategies
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Generates creative solutions; Demonstrates attention to details
- Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time
- Strives to continuously build knowledge on analytical techniques and skills of applying analytical tools including programing skills

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have good verbal and written communication skills; Capable of communicating effectively with various department leaders
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Familiarity with linear, logistic, and time series modeling, as well as data preparation for model development. Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to derive conclusions and make recommendations beyond the scope of written policies or standard guidelines.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with SQL, SAS, or other statistical analysis software/language. And advanced training in statistics, data analysis, MIS, or computer programing
- Overtime required – required on an as needed basis.
- Travel – as required on an as needed basis.
- Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX
- Experience with statistical/analytical software/languages such as Python and R
- Familiarity with advanced modeling such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosted Trees, and other Machine Learning techniques
- Comfortable working cross-departmentally and presenting results to non-technical audiences
