The Vehicle Process Engineering General Assembly Conveyor and Facilities Manager will lead projects in design and installation of conveyors / facilities and equipment for new model launches in North America and Canada. The role of this Manager will develop project documents to support automotive assembly programs, drive continuous improvement to standards, lead conveyor designs and facility installations while meeting the cost and timing requirements of the program.

The GA Conveyor and Facilities Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of VPE standards and specifications focused on:
- Develop and maintain standards for conveyors
- Develop standards & unit content matrix for facilities and Productionization equipment
- Demo and installation of existing program equipment
- Author project documents to include scopes of work and drawings for competitive bid, as well as documents for project management and project execution
- Vehicle 3D Carrier design, fabrication, and performance testing
- Assembly Station layout and design to optimize assembly operator’s work area
- Ensure systems meet required cycle times
- Eliminate sources of downtime and micro stops as related to facilities and conveyance.
- Resolve build issues related to facilities and conveyance.
- Lead supplier support resources, and corrective actions with methodical documented Kaizen approach
- Manage daily launch construction meetings
- Manage progress reports to schedule, master plan, and program charter(s)
- Manage financial and timing concerns with recovery plans and change notifications
- Resolve installation issues, liaison with GAPE Tooling and Industrial Engineering
- Support for all conveyor and facilities equipment found within the plant environment
- Liaison between VPE and Plant employees
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering
- 3 years of automotive project experience with conveyance and facilities design, scope of work development, and equipment installation
- Strong computer skills – particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, Autodesk, Teamcenter
- Excellent communication skills – both orally and in written, outstanding problem solving and analytical skills required
- Successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team, be self-motivated, be on site, and be able to interface with all levels of management and labor
- 2D and 3D layout experience is a must, successful candidate will have proven AutoCad skills
- 5 years of industrial project management experience
- Familiarity with 3D Carrier Design, and Teamcenter Visualization
- Familiarity with multiple conveyor types, Power and Free, EMS, FDS, and Skillet Conveyors
- Experience working with plant skilled trades, and installation skilled trades working under the NMA
- Experience working with Bargaining Unit Employees
