The Assistant Banking Center Manager is responsible for ensuring that the goals of the branch are met by providing excellent customer service in a team building atmosphere. Typical responsibilities include opening new accounts, assisting customers and lenders, and providing operational support to the Banking Center Manager. The ABCM is also responsible for managing operations in the absence of the Banking Center Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Promote and cross-sell the Bank’s products and services by assisting customers in their selection to meet their financial needs.
2. Perform banking center activities such as opening new accounts, safe deposit duties, stop payment requests, check recorders, and wire transfer requests.
3. Monitor cash limits for the tellers, vault, ATM and total office.
4. Monitor reports to assure that MIL and CTR reporting is completed timely and accurately, assures transmission of reports to the Compliance Department.
5. Ensure ATM is balanced, and the proper cash supply is within limits.
6. Review and monitor deposit account exceptions and ensure exceptions are cleared in a timely manner.
7. Participate in branch audits on established schedule.
8. Review NSF and overdraft reports for assigned customer portfolios; approves or declines such exceptions within approved limits.
9. Maintain strong knowledge of the financial industry and support staff development and growth.
10. Process moderately complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries and assume responsibility in absence of Banking Center Manager.
11. Consistently maintains exceptions at less than 30 days.
12. Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
At the direction of the Banking Center Manager, the Assistant Banking Center Manager may support some or all the following activities:
1. Approve teller sheets to assure balancing, reporting and cash limits are within approved limits.
2. Perform alarm testing and 911 testing in accordance with established guidelines.
3. Provide leadership, training, and/or support to staff, leads team meetings.
4. Approve timecards by payroll deadlines.
The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The position is responsible for supervision of retail staff in the absence of the Banking Center Manager. The Assistant Banking Center Manager is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced staff members.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5 years or more of experience in financial institution customer service.
- Basic knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations and other Bank operational policies.

- The ability to understand and follow procedures, write correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and other Bank employees.
