Quality Control Foreman

Summary/Objective
As a member of the Stellar Energy Quality Team, the Quality Control Foreman is responsible to work as part of Project Management Team to provide the quality supervision during design, procurement, manufacturing, and test activities on Stellar Energy projects. The major objective of the position is to lead and manage day-to-day quality activities to assure the Stellar Energy fabricated modules meet project delivery goals. The Quality Control Foreman is also responsible for maintaining the Stellar Energy Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure overall ISO compliance.

Essential Functions

• Acquires/comprehends client's needs and requirements while communicating client's needs, requirements, and quality standards, to the production team.
• Investigates customer complaints regarding quality and makes appropriate corrections.
• Develops and improves the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods.
• Develops, improves, and reviews new specifications and procedures for products or processes, along with training staff.
• Determines requirements for raw materials from suppliers including monitoring for compliance.
• Ensures legal obligations are followed and ensures compliance with regulatory, with health and safety guidelines.
• Oversees product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards.
• Inspects final output, compares requirements, and approves or rejects final products.
• Compiles feedback from the clients (ex: attending meetings, submitting reports, and assisting external auditors and inspectors).
• Formulates and maintains quality control objectives, and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs.
• Manages, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, services, and products.
• Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records of statistical analysis, progress reports, etc., in order to inform management of current status or work activities.
• Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to quality and reliability.
• Analyzes and resolves quality challenges or assists employees in solving quality challenges.
• Trains staff, evaluates employee performance, and recommends promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
• Interprets/enforces company Quality Policy, process, and procedures to employees.

Supervisory Responsibility
The position is responsible to manage and direct Quality Inspectors day-to-day activities.

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Support Manufacturing Shop with necessary quality processes, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory head protection.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must also be able to climb a ladder.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary.

Required Education and Experience

• 10 years of experience in industrial QA/QC or similar projects working experience.
• Knowledge of quality system, process control, and control tool, etc.
• Knowledge of selection and technical requirement of general mechanical equipment including pumps, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Certified Weld Inspector or NACE inspector.
