The Mechanical Apprentice will assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial compressors. This role requires a hands-on individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in learning and developing skills in the field. The apprentice will work closely with experienced technicians to troubleshoot issues, perform routine inspections, and ensure equipment reliability.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial compressors
- Work closely with experienced technicians to troubleshoot issues
- Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment reliability
- Develop mechanical skills and knowledge through hands-on experience
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Document maintenance activities and report any irregularities
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance technical skills
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Enrollment in or completion of a mechanical apprenticeship program is preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools
- Previous hands-on experience in a mechanical or technical role is an asset
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.
