What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Buyer position at Stellar Snacks LLC?
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for helping to maintain efficient production and operations throughout the plant by planning and coordinating the maintenance needs of all plant facilities and equipment in a timely manner. The following duties are performed in a courteous manner contributing to the overall success of the organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Responsible for the planning and scheduling corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level.
· Develop and maintain effective PMs and track completion and other KPIs
· Maintain maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and impact on production.
· Responsible for managing work orders, documentation, and assets using the CMMS.
· Manage spare parts and alignment between maintenance department and stock room to include inventory value and critical spare parts.
· Able to balance project goals and expectations across departments.
· Identify opportunities for improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
· Ensure maintenance technicians have appropriate tools and parts in order to complete work orders in an efficient timeframe. Kit all parts needed for PM / planned downtime work
· Work closely with Production, Safety, and Quality Control on continuous improvement projects.
· Adherence to GMP and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards for maintenance
· Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
· Ensures efficient department operation by participating in all team meetings, willingly assisting co-workers to balance workload. Assist in training employees with CMMS.
· Possess a working knowledge of power tools such as drill presses, cut off saw, lathes, mills, and table tools.
· Coordinate with maintenance team, contractors, and external vendors, ensuring clear and professional communication and manageable timeframes.
· Ensures maintenance contractor compliance when on site
· Coordinate plant-wide shutdowns.
· Follow (LOTO) all Safety procedures and Company Safety Policy and wear all personal protective equipment as required. Adheres to all safety measures and protocols.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Maintenance experience in Food & Beverage processing
· Basic math and computer skills are necessary
· Other duties may be assigned.

Shifts:
Flexibility to cover all shifts during Production hours.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
· Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and heat and cold.
· The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate and quiet in the office.
· Near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery and occasionally exposed to burn hazards.
· Exposed to protected and unprotected heights, which requires the use of a personal fall protection system (harness/lifeline).
· Occasionally exposed to vibration and fumes or airborne particles which will require the use of personal protective equipment including respirators; flame retardant clothing; self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), etc.
- Frequently sit, stand, or walk for a minimum of 8-hour shifts, including walking long distances and on uneven ground
- Frequently climb stairs and ladders, balance and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and maneuver in awkward positions
- Frequently lift objects of up to 25 - 50 pounds in weight and carry objects of up to 25 – 50 pounds in weight. Occasionally the employee will have to push or pull objects of up to 25 pounds in weight
- Talk & hear; use hands & fingers; handle & feel; and able to reach with hands and arms extensively
- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
