Sanitation Lead

Full time position

Shifts:

• B Shift NIGHT: 6 pm to 6:30 am: Sunday to Wednesday 12 hours (48 hours) – one week – the following week Sunday to Tuesday ( 36 hours)
• D Shift NIGHT: 6 pm to 6:30 am Thursday to Saturday 12 hours (36hours) – one week – the following week Wednesday to Saturday ( 48 hours)

The Sanitation Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the sanitation operations within the food warehouse. This role ensures that all sanitation activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. The Sanitation Lead will manage a team of sanitation workers, ensure the cleanliness of the facility, and maintain all sanitation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Lead and supervise a team of sanitation workers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Schedule and coordinate sanitation activities to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Understanding manufacturing process flow with regard to prioritization of mechanical breakdown and sanitation
• Understanding of food safety risk, regard to the 3 types of contamination
• ability to operate forklift, scissor lift, and other sanitation equipment as needed.

Sanitation Operations:

• Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of the warehouse, including floors, walls, equipment, and other surfaces.
• Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed according to established procedures and schedules.
• Monitor the proper use of cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of sanitation equipment and tools.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in sanitation, food safety, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sanitation role within a food warehouse or similar environment.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using sanitation equipment and tools.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in a warehouse environment, which may include varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
