Overview
Stellar Solutions is seeking a Sustainment Engineer to provide critical operational integration support to a space system ground segment. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition and sustainment of a soon-to-be-operational system. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to track and manage system defects and support tier-level help desk transitions at major ground locations.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
In this role you will:
- Provide day-to-day integration and sustainment support for a complex space system ground segment
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of system operations to ensure seamless performance during the transition to operational status
- Maintain and track system defects reported by users
- Utilize tools such as ServiceNow/HelpNow for tracking, resolution, and reporting of system issues
- Coordinate defect reviews and participate in weekly Defect Review Board (DRB) meetings, including scheduling, agenda creation, and minute documentation
- Support the development and implementation of tiered help desk structures
- Collaborate with teams at major ground locations to ensure effective help desk operations and user support
- Assist in the development of user guides, operational procedures, and training materials to enable efficient system usage
- Establish and execute sustainment strategies, policies, and schedules
- Coordinate and facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to manage and implement system changes
Required Qualifications:
- Active and current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
- Demonstrated experience in sustainment engineering or a related field, with a focus on operational systems, defect management, and ground system support
- Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar tools; familiarity with space systems and ground operations
- Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams across diverse operational environments
