Vision & Measurement Automation Controls Engineer (SC)
The person in this role will be responsible for completing the electrical and automation portion of capital projects in support of the Plant Capital execution as well as Plant Technical support to enable the plant to meet its market, productivity, and/or quality goals. They will assist our central engineering team with pre-studies of deployment and development projects in the EE automation field. They will also execute design studies, follow procurement and fabrication of equipment, and manage the installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment in an industrial plant environment.
Role Responsibilities: Provide Automation/Electrical Engineering design for assigned projects, including panel layouts, parts/components specification, power and control circuit design, automation programming, HMI design, etc.
Provide Machine Automation Design and adaptation engineering for assigned projects.
Provide Management of Electrical contractor or maintenance installation teams during equipment modifications & machine installations through Start-up and Commissioning.
Create Budgetary Estimates and Bid Packages on assigned projects.
Create project documentation: schematics, technical offer, safety risk assessment, maintenance & operator training documents and user manuals.
Interface with Plant production & maintenance customers, other engineers, and suppliers.
Facilitate the order of equipment and materials for assigned projects.
Managing and executing project automation design (including specification of system components), implementation, start-up, commissioning and support tasks on an as needed basis
Design control system architecture layout, including main control elements, peripheral elements, and communications networks
Design control panel layouts, I/O assignments, and bill of materials
Develop PLC software to meet the functional specifications
Provide panel inspection and audit on equipment that comes into the plant
Must Have:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience with at least 5 years of Engineering Experience.
2. Experience with PLC programming standards & programming software.
3. Experience with: GRAFCET, Ladder Logic, and Structured Text and HMI configuration, programming, and communication with specific experience with Rockwell platforms is a must have
4. Experienced with Variable Frequency drives and Motion Control technologies
5. Experienced with controls systems network interfaces and various protocols for communications between devices including computer system databases. 6. Experience with electrical design standards and able to complete controls systems designs using standard CAD design tools
Bonus Points:
Robotic experience, configuration, or knowledge Specific experience with Fanuc, ABB
Experience with Siemens platforms and Control Techniques
Vision System configuration and interface for width measurement applications and defect detection applications is preferred but not required
Specific experience with Cognex, Keyence, Adept, Bytewise, Gocator is a plus
