What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Based Mental Health Professional or Practitioner position at STELLHER HUMAN SERVICES INC?
The Mental Health Professional is responsible to provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling support services for children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, communication challenges, or family conflict. Day to day supervision is provided by the school principal and the Stellher program coordinator.
This is a school-based position, full time, 40 hours per week for 9-12 months a year.

This role offers a competitive base hourly rate, with the opportunity to increase your earnings based on productivity.
Base Hourly Rate: $20.00 to $32.00 Depending on Qualifications (Practitioner, Clinical Trainee or Licensed MHP)
Requirements:Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in the delivery of clinical services to recipients with mental illness.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures and their history and origins.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Able to work independently within established guidelines and with limited supervision and assistance.
- Able to travel to and from meetings with families, school officials, and other agencies.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with other professionals in verbal and written formats.
Education and Experience:
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences and licensed under Minnesota Statues as a psychologist, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, or psychiatric nurse.
for Mental Health Practitioner:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one of the following:
o Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and 2000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to recipients with mental illness or substance use disorder required.
o Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields and has completed an internship/practicum with direct interaction with adult or child clients.
o Has 4000 hours of work experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with a mental illness or substance abuse disorder.
