Summary: The Revenue Cycle Director is responsible for setting the objectives and obtaining results for all facets of the revenue cycle process to ensure accurate collection of professional and technical revenue.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of physician professional services reimbursement and account management in a healthcare setting.
Essential Functions:
- Leads multiple teams and staff in a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and team culture.
- Direct oversight of all facets of each department function: patient registration, scheduling, coding, charge entry, insurance/claims, payment posting, collections, health information management, and provider credentialing.
- Collaborates closely with Senior Leadership Team, clinical managers, physicians, and committee structures to provide guidance and resources in areas of expertise.
- Direct management of Patient Access Manager, Business Office Manager, and Credentialing Coordinator.
- Partners with managers and human resources on recruitment, development, and employee relation issues as applicable.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, third party payer regulations, and other regulatory agencies.
- Oversees monthly reporting and financial analysis of Business Office activities.
- Actively participates in payer contract negotiations process.
- Monitors reimbursement from insurance carriers to ensure consistency with contract rates.
- Management of outside vendor relationships.
- Assist with elevated patient situations as applicable.
- Recommend projects and strategic initiatives to maximize growth and efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong working comprehensive knowledge of insurance carriers, CPT coding, accounts receivable process, HIPAA, and Medicare Compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with theability to manage and integrate staff in multiple departments and locations is essential.
- Elevated comfort level and experience with Epic EMR system, and ability to initiate change and add structure to existing systems.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.
- Ability to organize, plan, and integrate priorities and deadlines in a self-directed manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Excel, and spreadsheets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Healthcare Management, or Business
- 5 years working in a physician practice billing role
- 3 years direct staff supervision experience
- Working knowledge of physician and provider production-based compensation models strongly preferred.
