Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade Science Teacher to join our dynamic team 2025 - 2026 school year. In this role, you will inspire curiosity and foster a love for science by delivering an engaging curriculum that supports the intellectual and personal development of middle school students. You will plan and implement hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Curriculum Development:
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, experiments, and technology to enhance student understanding of scientific concepts.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs.
- Student Assessment and Support:
- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents to support academic growth.
- Offer additional academic support and accommodations to ensure all students succeed.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Promote active participation and maintain discipline in accordance with school policies.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and share best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching strategies.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state teaching license or certification.
- Strong knowledge of middle school science content and teaching methodologies.
- Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Google Suite.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
- Ability to run short distances.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
