Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment tailored to diverse K–5 learners.
- Collaborate with special education, MTSS, and grade-level teams to assess students and develop data-informed Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide direct instruction (push-in/pull-out, 1:1, small group, in-class) aligned with student IEP goals in academic, social-emotional, and executive functioning areas.
- Utilize and share data for progress monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.
- Support teachers and families through consultation, training, and IEP development to ensure effective accommodations and instructional strategies.
- Maintain accurate session records and update student progress in required systems (IEP, Medicaid, etc.).
- Participate in meetings (IEPs, staff, MTSS) and provide leadership in professional development efforts.
- Promote student integration into general education through instructional support and differentiation.
- Build strong relationships with school staff, students, and families to foster collaboration and shared accountability.
- Ensure compliance with special education laws, ethical standards, and district policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's preferred).
- Valid Colorado teaching license with endorsement in Moderate Needs, Special Education Generalist, or Special Education Specialist.
- Deep knowledge of learning disabilities and effective programming for diverse learners.
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork and a vision for maintaining a high-functioning special education team.
- Knowledge of both Mac and PC, Google
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
- Ability to run short distances.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
- Day shift
