We are seeking a passionate and skilled Elementary School Counselor to support students" academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development. This role involves working closely with students, staff, and families to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling on academic (executive functioning skills, study habits, etc.), personal, social, and behavioral challenges.
- Deliver counseling services through classroom lessons, small groups, and one-on-one sessions.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to students and families as needed.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate 504 meetings and plans for students.
- Analyze and utilize student data to drive continuous program improvement.
- Collaborate with administrators and the mental health team to implement school-wide social-emotional programming.
- Establish and maintain community partnerships to provide additional student and family support.
- Works as a team member with school staff, parents and the community to create a caring, supportive climate and atmosphere whereby students can achieve academic success
- Perform other duties as requested
- Colorado Special Services Provider License for School Counseling
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to support student success
- Experience in case management, counseling, and crisis intervention
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of both Mac and PC, Google
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, mental health interventions, and 504 compliance
- Behavior intervention experience
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
- Ability to run short distances.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- School Year: 2025 - 2026
