We are seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Secondary Computer Science Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. This role will empower students with future-ready skills in computer science, programming, and computational thinking. Ideal candidates will create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment while preparing students for careers in technology and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum Development

• Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Computer Science using a problem-based learning (PBL) approach.
• Teach topics such as programming, web development, cybersecurity, computer hardware, and software design.
• Incorporate industry tools and platforms to enhance learning and real-world application.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

Student Assessment and Support

• Monitor and assess student progress using a variety of tools and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Support student growth through intervention, enrichment, and individual support plans.
• Communicate progress with students and families regularly.

Classroom Management

• Build a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
• Establish and reinforce positive routines and expectations for behavior and engagement.
• Model ethical and responsible use of technology.

Collaboration and Professional Development

• Work with colleagues to integrate computer science across disciplines.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with technology trends and instructional practices.
• Collaborate with other educators to support school-wide innovation initiatives and competitions (e.g., robotics, coding clubs, hackathons).

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Valid Colorado teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) in Secondary Science.
• Strong understanding of science content.
• Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Google Suite, and hands-on lab instruction.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, or move around a classroom/lab for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and handling lab materials.
