We are seeking an innovative and tech-savvy Secondary Computer Science Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. This role will empower students with future-ready skills in computer science, programming, and computational thinking. Ideal candidates will create a collaborative and inclusive learning environment while preparing students for careers in technology and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum Development
- Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Computer Science using a problem-based learning (PBL) approach.
- Teach topics such as programming, web development, cybersecurity, computer hardware, and software design.
- Incorporate industry tools and platforms to enhance learning and real-world application.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
Student Assessment and Support
- Monitor and assess student progress using a variety of tools and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Support student growth through intervention, enrichment, and individual support plans.
- Communicate progress with students and families regularly.
Classroom Management
- Build a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Establish and reinforce positive routines and expectations for behavior and engagement.
- Model ethical and responsible use of technology.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Work with colleagues to integrate computer science across disciplines.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with technology trends and instructional practices.
- Collaborate with other educators to support school-wide innovation initiatives and competitions (e.g., robotics, coding clubs, hackathons).
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Colorado teaching license (or eligibility to obtain one) in Secondary Science.
- Strong understanding of science content.
- Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Google Suite, and hands-on lab instruction.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or move around a classroom/lab for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and handling lab materials.
