What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Operations Manager position at STEM Search Group?
What you'll do:
- Serve as a visible and engaged leader on the production floor, actively interacting with all team members to foster strong relationships.
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors to build a high-performing production teams across all shifts.
- Strategically manage resources to optimize labor efficiency and achieve production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Analyze key production metrics and implement data-driven strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, refining processes to eliminate waste and enhance productivity.
- Develop and refine production SOPs for equipment operation, quality control, and workflow processes.
- Facilitate and lead regular meetings with production teams and executive leadership to ensure alignment on operational goals, address challenges, and foster a culture of growth and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams, particularly Engineering and Maintenance, to align on process improvements.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related/relevant field of study
- 5 years of experience in managing production and operations within high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on leader who excels in on-the-floor coaching & development of supervisors and staff.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to resource allocation and performance enhancement.
- Proficiency in analyzing production data to drive significant operational improvements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and delegation skills, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Experience in creating structured training programs to optimize workforce performance.
