Job Description:
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Marine Construction Laborer to join our team. As a laborer, you will be an essential part of our construction projects, assisting in the building and maintenance of marine structures, such as docks, seawalls, and piers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes safety seriously, and is eager to learn and grow in the marine construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the construction and repair of marine structures using various hand and power tools.
- Perform tasks such as loading and unloading materials, digging, and site cleanup.
- Safely operate equipment, including small boats and barges, under the supervision of a foreman or supervisor.
- Set up and maintain job site safety measures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Help with rigging, lifting, and positioning materials using cranes and other machinery.
- Participate in pre-job briefs and job site walk-throughs to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Follow instructions and work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction, preferably marine construction, is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn and participate in on-the-job training programs.
- Familiarity with operating basic construction tools and equipment.
- Strong work ethic, physical stamina, and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Ability to swim and work comfortably around water.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Commitment to following all safety protocols and wearing required PPE, including flotation devices, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection.
Compensation:
- Wage: $19.75 - $21.50 per hour based on experience.
- Overtime: Available based on project needs.
