As Stemilt's Senior IT Data Engineer you are charged with implementing new technologies and methods, affecting change, and being a key team member within our IT Department. The Senior IT Data Engineer has a cross-functional position that reports directly to our Senior Director of IT and is part of our business led Analytic Center of Excellence (ACoE). Stemilt is undergoing a transformation to turn data into analytical gold! As our Senior IT Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront supporting business teams become data story tellers and insight makers. You are the innovator that makes this transformation and journey possible!
This position delivers extraordinary customer service at all levels, and is responsible for the design, build, and implementation of data pipelines that support analysts and reporting across the enterprise. You will be responsible for maintain and administering our analytic cloud reporting layer and helping to support data extracts and transformations. Making sure jobs run successfully, staying highly organized and knowing when to prioritize different tasks. Ability to work and adapt in a multi-project environment is a must.
Additional Responsibilities
- Builds, maintains, and administers our analytical cloud architecture
- Ensures data pipelines and data stores are high performing, efficient, organized and reliable
- Design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet data in needs
- Helps design technical solutions for gathering, landing, consuming and analyzing data across our reporting architecture including data lakes, power bi, Synapse, and SAP Analytics Cloud
- Perform platform data analysis that will support and enhance Information Management Systems
- Clearly communicate technical details to business and management personnel
- Helps support the development and execution of ETL / ELT strategies
- Participate in business led ACoE's project planning process
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements
- Tackle data-related technical issues and assist with data infrastructure needs
- Work with ACoE to strive for greater functionality within our data systems
- Support the development reporting standards
- Execute data governance strategies
- Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data and reporting requirements
- Identify areas where improvements can be made and find / suggest solutions
- Contribute to the team and the Company in various other ways when requested or required

Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 2-3 or more years' experience in Computer Science, IT, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
