We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Warehouse QA Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance for Data Warehouse (DWH) objects, specifically within SQL Server environments. This role involves reviewing and validating DWH scripts, reporting findings, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data warehouse systems during an important legacy DWH upgrade.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance of DWH Objects:
- Review and validate data warehouse objects, ensuring they meet quality standards and functional requirements.
- Reporting QA Work:
- Document and report QA findings, including data issues and discrepancies, in a clear and concise manner.
- SQL Server Expertise:
- Utilize SQL Server to conduct tests and validate data integrity within the DWH environment.
- Understanding Data Warehouse Concepts:
- Leverage knowledge of data warehouse facts and dimensions to inform testing strategies and validate data relationships.
- Collaboration with Team:
- Work closely with Seema and the data warehouse team to align QA efforts with project goals and timelines.
- Legacy DWH Upgrade Participation:
- Actively participate in the upgrade process by examining DWH scripts and QAing new build objects to ensure they meet specifications.
- Data Savvy Analysis:
- Analyze data outputs to identify inconsistencies, anomalies, and potential issues, providing actionable insights to improve data quality.
- Communication of Findings:
- Effectively communicate data findings to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of any issues or necessary actions.
- Reporting Skills:
- Familiarity with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) to help in validating report outputs and assisting in reporting processes.
- Ticketing Systems Experience:
- Use Jira or other ticketing systems to log issues, track progress, and manage QA tasks.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in QA for Data Warehouse environments, particularly with DWH objects, and a solid understanding of SQL Server.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and execute queries for testing purposes.
- Understanding of data warehouse architecture, including facts and dimensions.
- Familiarity with SSRS is a plus.
