Direct Service Provider - Level 2
LEVEL 2 ETP/DSP (EI/SS & BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONIST): Proficient – We provide ongoing supervision and training. Must complete basic training within the first 90 days of employment.
DESCRIPTION:
At Step by Step EDU-Ther-A-Play, we work with individuals of all ages who have various abilities and diagnoses, such as but not limited to: Autism, Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and challenging behaviors. We focus on meeting our clients where they are, and we believe one size does not fit all. Through the assessment and implementation of various relationship-based strategies and techniques, as well as modified Applied Behavior Analysis, we support our clients in achieving their goals.
Direct Service Providers work consistently with the client and family implementing the treatment plan. Supervisors create treatment plans; help support the family and DSP in implantation and track progress. Essential components of this position are listed below but subject to change at the discretion of Step by Step. This job description describes essential job functions but does not provide an exhaustive list of duties that may be assigned. Specific duties & responsibilities will vary depending on skill level based on training, education, and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
The DSP 2 reports directly to their supervisor on a weekly basis and provides updated information on changes in the child’s progress or concerns.
DSP 2’s in SS are responsible for developing and implementing curriculum development, training, and supporting assistant staff. This is in collaboration with Supervisor.
Reporting to families and supervisors/directors on progress and concerns or needs for support.
BI - Provide detailed qualitative and quantitative data according to protocol.
Provides activities that can be practiced in everyday activities and routines in the home.
Collaborate with the supervisor for Bi-annual reports and development of new goals.
You must understand developmental milestones and the accuracy of chronological and developmental expectations.
DSP 2’s meet monthly with the entire team and meet daily for prep with the supervisor. In BI supervision is provided based on clients funding.
Provide direct client support in 1:1 or group settings utilizing a combination of intervention techniques and natural environment training tools.
Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
Convert time at the end of each session daily.
Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst or your direct supervisor.
Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Prepare client materials as instructed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
Collaborate with the treatment team including clients, parents, caregivers, outside professionals, and supervisors.
Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.
Must attend or view All-staff meetings during the year.
Read and respond to emails within 48 hours.

Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and writing.
Must maintain a professional appearance concerning clothing, grooming, hair, nails, and make-up.
Must maintain cleanliness, employee may not wear intense perfumes or fragrances and arrive to work clean and odor–free.
BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. (Lifting is not a usual part of the job but must be able to do so in an emergency)
Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing, or other) for extended periods.
Must complete the Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention certification and be willing to implement appropriate use of this technique when needed and appropriate.
Must be able to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for note taking, data collection, and collecting signatures. (Central Reach)
Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements, and on time.
Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Must be able to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
Must respond to emails and texts within 24-48 hours.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites within the Los Angeles Area.
Must self-evaluate ergonomically correct seating and computer setup. (If support is needed, please communicate with management)
POLICIES & PROCEDURES:
Prior to the signing of this contract, the employee will be given a copy of the policy and procedures manual and is required to sign that you have read, understand, and agree to comply with all policies and procedures. The Employee will acknowledge that they understand that non-compliance may result in corrective action or immediate termination.
Must adhere to all policies and procedures in the employee handbook which is reviewed annually with updates and must be signed.
Must keep all certifications and clearances up to date.
CPI, CPR, RBT, and TB
Sexual Abuse training is taken annually.
Must follow all safety and health policies and procedures as mandated by DDS, CDC, and OSHA.
Must complete 1 personal development (1 college class or a 40-hour training) annually.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Hourly: $20-28 dollars per hour (based on education, training, experience, demonstration of skill, and program placement). You may be eligible to earn more through completion of training and skill development. You will be trained to work with specific individuals. Mileage will be paid between visits (not from home or to home)

Mornings/Day time for Early Intervention

Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week part-time.
Education:
Minimum BA/BS preferred, AA must have RBT or equivalent.
Location: Home and center-based programs
Health considerations:
Step by Step follows the CDC mandates. All staff must have a current TB test and renewal every 3 years (for X-ray every 10 years).
