Purpose of Classification
The purpose of this classification is to conduct in-person interviews with persons applying for Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP) or Housing Assistance to clients who come to the office or who cannot come to the office. Interviews are conducted in the office or in applicant's home, hospital room or nursing home.
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assists clients in the office and travels to locations within the County to make home, hospital or nursing home visits to meet with applicants (homebound and disabled) applying for EHEAP or Housing Assistance services and determines eligibility for those applicants: provides information about Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and EHEAP, Percentage of Income Plan (PIP) and Housing Assistance; determines eligibility and informs applicants of eligibility status.
Completes all necessary forms for enrollment in these programs and acquires appropriate documentation; refers applicants to other resources within the CEOGC or partnering agencies scope. coordinates result with the HEAP and Housing staff; contacts utility companies and other resources to assure continuation or re-establishment of services.
Attends and participates in meetings, training sessions, conferences and workshops to provide best practices and professional development to assist with increasing job knowledge, skills and abilities.

Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of work experience in general clerical or customer service or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Successful results of pre and continued employment assessments including fingerprinting, drug testing, medical examinations and background check(s).
