The Fleet Manager manages the interface, bidding, sales and follow-up of government accounts. Supports the efforts of the CSV department operations as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains contact with federal, state, and/or local government agencies and utilities to secure fleet business, actively utilizing the bidding process.
- Ensures quality deliveries of all government sales.
- Supplies CSV department manager with monthly forecasts of fleet car and truck deliveries.
- Works in conjunction with Human Resources with recruiting, hiring, disciplinary proceedings, and the disbursement of information per SOAG policy, procedures, SOPs, and guidelines.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Manages all facets of running a profitable and clean business.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Must have the ability to sit for long hours while working from a desktop computer, phone system, and various dealership specific software
- Must have ample dexterity to bend, reach, stretch, sit, stand, type, and lift up to 30 pounds.
Education and Experience
- Government Sales experience required.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
