The Parts Advisor is responsible for maintaining required inventory levels within their market. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish, posting orders and lost sales.
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to use and understand parts catalog websites when looking up and identifying specific parts.
- Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
- Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
- Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
- Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary
- Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
- Assists the Parts Manager with writing purchase orders.
- Assists in cashing out customers when necessary.
- Provides quotes to counter, retail, wholesale, and repair order customers.
- Accurately pull customer orders and invoice all parts sold.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Report any discrepancies.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Credits invoices according to Parts Managers process.
- Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- May assist in picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. When doing so, verifies that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up, checks payments received with the invoices for each delivery, and keeps an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
- May perform stock order entry to manufacturers.
- Assists manager with keeping up with last sold items or items that are running low.
- Must be able to handle hazardous materials.
- Depending on dealership and location, the parts advisor may focus on one or more specific areas of the parts department, to include the front counter, wholesale department, body shop parts department, retail counter, the warehouse, or other areas as assigned.
- Assists the parts manager with day-to-day operations, training, and other tasks as needed.
- May be responsible for the organization, layout, placement, and processes within the warehouse.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience
- Automotive Dealership experience is strongly preferred, especially within the parts department.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and Motor Vehicle Report.
