Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our compassionate team at Step Up Rehab.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support to our occupational therapy team, helping residents achieve their goals in a nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with medical staff and patients to establish effective working relationships.
- Maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Successfully completed an accredited occupational therapy assistant program recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Florida.
- Prior experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant required; experience in skilled nursing facilities (SNF) preferred.
- Membership in state and national American Occupational Therapy Associations is a plus.
- Skill Requirements:
- Strong administrative and public relations skills to foster effective relationships with patients and colleagues.
- Thorough understanding of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
- Knowledge of potential hazards to patients during treatment and the necessary precautions.
- Training in the use of prescriptive devices (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound) preferred.
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement.
- Experience with Net Health.
