As a Medical Assistant, you play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by serving our residents in a safe environment promoting long term recovery. You will partner with the leadership team of your facility to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment for our residents.
The Role
Stepful has partnered with local universities to train, certify, & hire medical assistants for open roles at clinics in Lewis Center, New Albany, Gahanna, Dublin, Worthington, Upper Arlington and Columbus, Ohio.
No prior experience required, you will spend the first 4 months doing online training with Stepful, preparing to take the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Exam.
Accepted applicants will attend the Stepful program tuition free and be placed at a local healthcare facility for clinical hours. Upon successful completion of their Medical Assistant training, qualified applicants will be offered full time employment with a university healthcare facility in in Lewis Center, New Albany, Gahanna, Dublin, Worthington, Upper Arlington and Columbus, Ohio.
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma
- 18 Years or Older
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Strong Command of English (Written & Oral)
- 8 hour shifts ranging between 7am to 5pm | Monday to Friday
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) to locations including but not limited to Lewis Center, New Albany, Gahanna, Dublin, Worthington, Upper Arlington and Columbus Ohio.
Responsibilities
Medical assistants find meaning working directly with our patients to provide patient care. Entry level opportunities are available and thorough training is provided.
- Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
- Complete patient interview and history.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by the physician.
- May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
