Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our client-centric company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting and analysis, to include accounts receivable and payable. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with applicable regulations, while also contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties
- Process and record bank transactions
- Assign and manage accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Review, assign and manage accounts receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile accounts – bank, AR, AP, loans, fixed assets and more as needed
- Record specific transaction entries, i.e. journal entries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients across various industries
- Financial statement clean-up work
- Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Capable of effecting readable, balanced, accurate work papers
- Complete fixed asset schedule to include GAAP, federal and local tax depreciation
- Assist with payroll, processing, reconciliation, recording
- Assist in regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including GAAP, federal, state and local.
- Work in tax/accounting-oriented software like QBO, QBDT, tax software and client management software
- Assist in creating templates, processes and procedures
- Effective communication with clients to include phone & email
- File state reports like sales & franchise taxes; support the dissolution of entities
- Assist with on-boarding new clients
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Understanding of accounting, accounting cycle, accrual and cash methods of accounting
- Proven experience in financial accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Understand and know payroll processes and payroll laws
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is required; experience with client management systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members, clients and stakeholders.
Strong candidates have
- Certifications in QuickBooks
- Knowledge in building financial statements
- Experience working in an accounting firm
- Exposure to tax returns/Experience completing tax returns
- Exposure to tax law and regulations

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
