Child Care Associate, Kids and Company

Council Bluffs School Foundation is seeking to hire Child Care Associates for their Kids and Company program.

Hours: Part time

Location: Council BLuffs Community School Elementary Schools; assigned based on business need at time of hire.

School Year: MUST be availible for FULL shifts

Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

AND

Mondays 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

During school vacation days and the summer: 3-6 hour shifts from 7:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to pass background check
• Position Summary: The Childcare Associate contributes to the day-to-day operations of the Kids & Company program by providing direct care and supervision to children in a safe and engaging environment. This position supports the implementation of program activities and ensures the well-being of children under the supervision of Site Supervisors.
  
  

Job Duties

• Supervise and interact with children during program hours, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in activities.
• Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and enrichment programs as directed by Site Supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized childcare environment, including cleaning and sanitizing toys, surfaces, and materials.
• Follow all Kids & Company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for children.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's activities, behavior, and developmental progress as directed.
• Assist in maintaining accurate attendance records and other documentation as required.
• Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in childcare practices.
• Support Site Supervisors and Assistant Site Supervisors in carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities as needed.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires active participation with children including playground activities, meal and snack preparation. The position may include some light lifting, squatting, and large and fine motor movements.

Kids & Company provides safe, caring, affordable childcare for school-aged children in the Council Bluffs Community School District. Operating out of 10 elementary school buildings in the district, Kids & Company offers before school and after school childcare, as well as full day childcare on out of school days. Kids & Company is licensed by the Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS), and participates in the Quality Rating System, a voluntary rating system designed by Iowa DHS designed to increase the quality of childcare in Iowa.

Summary: The Child Care Associate will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Kids & Company program by providing direct care and supervision to children in a safe and engaging environment. This position requires a minimum age of 16 and the ability to pass a background check. The Child Care Associate will assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and communicating effectively with parents. This position offers part-time hours during the school year and full-day shifts during school vacations and the summer.
