What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR - Construction Management position at Stephen F. Austin University?
This is a full-time or part-time faculty position responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the chair.
Essential Job Functions
1. Prepares and delivers classes to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
2. Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.
3. Provides services to the university and the profession.
4. May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent studies, internships, and advising.

Master’s degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. Some fields may allow applicable practical experience to substitute for Master’s degree.
Required Experience and Training
Practical experience sufficient to teach at a university level, through teaching or profession, is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree is preferred. Experience teaching at a university level is preferred.

The Construction Management program has experienced significant growth, making it one of the fastest-growing majors at the university.
This position will focus on the hands-on laboratory classes (including Building Construction 1 and 2) that are the hallmark courses for the program.

This position is eligible for participation in the Optional Retirement Program (ORP), subject to the position being full-time and at least 4 ½ months in length, or the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
